At Autohaus Newport, we specialise in installing, upgrading, and troubleshooting campervan electrical systems for both new conversions and existing campervans. We tailor electrical systems to meet your specific needs, whether it's a simple leisure setup or a more advanced configuration for extended off-grid travel.
 
Our services cover both 12V and 230V systems, including mains hook-up, battery chargers, DC-DC charging, leisure batteries, lithium battery upgrades, solar integration, inverters, control panels, lighting, USB outlets, and 12V sockets.
 
When installing lithium batteries, the charging system must match the technology used. We can evaluate your existing setup and, if necessary, upgrade components such as DC-DC chargers, mains chargers, solar controllers, and monitoring equipment.
 
We also install and configure equipment from established manufacturers like Victron Energy, including battery chargers, inverters, inverter/chargers, battery monitors, and other associated system components.
 
For customers who already have an electrical system installed, we offer fault-finding services and electrical upgrades. This can involve diagnosing charging issues, replacing outdated equipment, improving cable sizing or protection, re-terminating connections, tidying up existing wiring, expanding solar capacity, or upgrading the system to accommodate higher electrical loads.
 
Safety is our priority for campervan installations. We consider correct cable sizing, fusing, isolation, earthing, component positioning, and protection in all electrical work.
 
If needed, we can also provide electrical certification for applicable installations, with inspections conducted by a qualified engineer.
 
We can complete campervan electrical work as part of a larger conversion project or book it separately for existing campervans or motorhomes at our workshop in Newport, South Wales.
